The Reds will once again be without their captain, Bruno Fernandes, who is still recovering from the hamstring injury he sustained against Aston Villa.
In addition to Fernandes, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo, and Mason Mount have all missed recent matches due to injuries. Amorim indicated in his pre-match press conference that he doesn’t anticipate any of them making a return soon.
Amad, Bryan Mbeumo, and Noussair Mazraoui will also remain unavailable as they continue their commitments in the Africa Cup of Nations.
On the other side, Leeds captain Ethan Ampadu will be serving a one-match ban after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season for a handball against Liverpool on New Year’s Day.
Additilionally, Joe Rodon will be absent from the defense due to an ankle injury he sustained during the 1-1 draw with Sunderland shortly after Christmas.
Meanwhile, Daniel James is still in recovery for his injury, making it unlikely for him to play against his former club.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke is hopeful that Sebastiaan Bornauw and Ilia Gruev will be fit to start, having both been substituted at Anfield due to cramping issues.
