Ruben’s Press Conference: Unveiling the First Chapter

Ruben: A Tale of Unfulfilled Potential
Ruben: A Tale of Unfulfilled Potential

On Sunday, you ended up using Lisandro Martinez in a midfield role, which you previously mentioned would only occur in an emergency—was this indeed the case? How do you plan to navigate the upcoming matches if Bruno won’t be available for a while?
“We have other players available. We might need to explore different tactics. I thought Jack Fletcher performed admirably, and that’s why we should provide opportunities for players like him and others. We’ll find ways to adapt and succeed.”

Are you feeling confident? This was a sequence of fixtures where many expected your team, Manchester United, to gain momentum, but it hasn’t unfolded that way. Although you played well against Villa, you didn’t secure a win, followed by challenges in the Everton and West Ham matches. With another set of fixtures coming up and several players missing, how do you see it?
“I’m confident that we can secure victories in any match. Naturally, we face some challenges, but I have faith in the team. Even with a number of players unavailable right now, I believe we can win any game. It’s definitely more challenging, but I trust in my players, and if we maintain our focus, we can succeed.”

Regarding the young players, specifically Jack [Fletcher] and Shea [Lacey], they’ve had a few days now to reflect on their debuts. How have they been over the last week, and what role do you envision for them going forward?
“They’re adjusting well, behaving like normal kids. Their attitude over the past few weeks has been commendable. They don’t seem overwhelmed by their debut with ‘I played for Manchester United’ mindset; instead, they remain focused and prepare for the game, truly believing they can contribute. That’s a positive sign, and I haven’t noticed any significant changes in their demeanor during this time.”
