I understand your point regarding Rooney, Ronaldo, and other prominent players sitting on the bench. Are you suggesting that you’re fostering competition within the team?
“No, that’s not my intention. I’m not saying, ‘Kobbie, you’re a key player, let’s bench you for effect.’ In fact, it’s the opposite. Sometimes I choose not to start Kobbie because I feel he may not be the right fit for that particular match. Perhaps in the upcoming game on Sunday, he will start. If he performs well, he will prove that he deserves to be in the lineup, and that’s what I want. My aim is solely to win games and to show all players that if they perform well, they will play, regardless of their reputation.”

You conceded four goals on Monday, but it’s fair to say that Senne has been impressive since joining the first team. It’s not his fault about those goals. Considering how the season has gone so far, are you satisfied with your choice not to sign Emi Martinez?

“We’re genuinely pleased with Senne. Our focus is on the match against Aston Villa; I don’t wish to comment further. I’m quite happy with our goalkeepers, especially Senne.”

Are you pleased with his current performance?
“Absolutely.”

Scott McTominay recently remarked that players often see improvements and positive changes in their careers after leaving Manchester United. Do you think Jadon Sancho’s situation supports McTominay’s view?
“I don’t have any comments on that. Sancho is currently not our player; he’s with another team and ineligible to play because he’s on loan. He is undoubtedly a talented player. If I started commenting on everyone who speaks about Manchester United, I wouldn’t have time for anything else. My priority is to win the next game against Villa.”
