Eredivisie market values: Ireland hero Troy Parrott increased by €6m - Ismael Saibari crowned MVP

As the season nears its midpoint and the January transfer window approaches, Transfermarkt has revised the market values of 482 players in the Eredivisie. Following this update, there’s a new highest-valued player in the Dutch top flight. After Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber saw a €5 million reduction in his market valuation, Ismael Saibari’s value surged by €5 million (from €27m to €32m), making him the most valuable player in the Eredivisie.

Eredivisie: New market values overview

“He had an outstanding October,” said Jesper Siereveld, Transfermarkt Area Manager for the Netherlands. “With goals against Bayer Leverkusen, Napoli, and a hat trick in the crucial match against Feyenoord, he really led PSV.” The 24-year-old Moroccan international has now scored 10 goals and provided 2 assists in 19 matches across all competitions. Siereveld added, “His performance stats were impressive last season, but he seems to have progressed even further this year. Interest in him this winter is inevitable, with Olympique Marseille already being mentioned in the media.”

The PSV Eindhoven forward is not the only player in his squad to see a substantial rise in market value. Keep an eye on 20-year-old defender Yarek Gasiorowski. “He cemented his place as a key player right from his arrival,” Siereveld noted. “While Ryan Flamingo has dropped to the bench with a decrease of €3m to €17m, Gasiorowski’s position in Peter Bosz’s lineup is secure. He still has room for improvement, but once he finds consistency, he could become the next big sale for the Eindhoven club.” Consequently, Gasiorowski’s market value rose by 60%, from €10m to €16m.

Eredivisie market values: Parrott and Smit lead upgrades at AZ Alkmaar

In other news, at AZ Alkmaar, Irish national star Troy Parrott saw his market value jump from €16m to €22m. “His significant contributions to the Irish national team have been evident, and he is also performing exceptionally for AZ,” Siereveld remarked. “Despite his injury, he has already netted 14 goals in just 16 matches.” As a result, Parrott is reportedly attracting interest from clubs in Europe’s top five leagues, with Stuttgart mentioned as a potential suitor.

Parrott is not alone in his accolades; his 19-year-old teammate, Kees Smit, has also enjoyed a remarkable season, leading to a 120% increase in his market value from €10m to €22m. “One of the most talented young Dutch players right now,” Siereveld stated. “He became an Under-19 European champion last summer, was named player of the tournament, is a regular starter for AZ at just 19, and showed great promise during the Conference League match against Crystal Palace, drawing the attention of clubs like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Newcastle United.”

Other players from AZ Alkmaar who saw value increases include Sven Mijnans (+€2m to €14m), Wouter Gous (+€2m to €12m), Weslley Patati (+€500,000 to €7.5m), and Rome Jayden Owusu-Oduro (+€1m to €7m). These enhancements are not surprising considering Alkmaar’s impressive performance this season, currently placing them third in the Eredivisie.

Feyenoord market values: Givairo Read and Luciano Valente on the rise

Among the notable increases are Givairo Read and Luciano Valente from second-placed Feyenoord, both viewed as promising talents in the league. “Despite dealing with injuries at the start of the season, interest in Read continues to grow,” Siereveld commented. “Bayern Munich and Manchester City are particularly interested; the latter is eager to recruit him this winter, although Feyenoord may not be inclined to let him go.” With such interest, Read’s market value has risen from €20m to €25m.

Valente is another player to watch closely. “His progress has been rapid,” Siereveld explained. “He’s one of the few who has managed to shine despite Feyenoord’s current struggles and has quickly become the playmaker in midfield. He capped off his excellent first half of the season with a debut for the Dutch national team, having ruled out an international career with Italy.” Valente’s market value increased by 80%, rising from €10m to €18m.

Understanding Transfermarkt market values

The market values on Transfermarkt are derived from various pricing models. A significant contributor is the Transfermarkt community, where members analyze and discuss player market values in depth. These values should not be conflated with transfer fees.

The purpose is not to forecast a price but to estimate a player’s expected value in a free market. Multiple factors, including individual transfer circumstances and situational contexts, play a role in determining market values. Transfermarkt does not rely on an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value, click here).
