Cllr Eve Parker, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Leisure, Arts, Culture, and Heritage, stated:

Trafford boasts two significant sporting venues—Old Trafford, home to Manchester United, and Lancashire Cricket Club—and we have a strong track record in hosting major events.
“Hosting this event will bring tremendous benefits, allowing us to showcase Trafford on a global stage to millions of viewers. The Council is committed to collaborating with FIFA and our local partners, including Manchester United, to ensure this prestigious event comes to our borough.”
