‘ADAPTING TO NEW CHALLENGES’
United faces the challenge of managing the demanding schedule following our remarkable Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford, with this game kicking off just 72 hours later.
Melvine Malard provided a spark of attacking energy when she came off the bench in the second half, as the manager utilized all five substitutions allowed.
“Introducing [Mel] changed things a bit,” Skinner remarked. “However, we need to rotate our squad more effectively now because we have this quick turnaround with two games in two days. I had to be mindful of managing the players’ condition.”
“After the PSG match, the players returned late [on Wednesday], had a day off [on Thursday], and on Friday we had to keep our training light since not everyone can even run yet. These are the new realities we’re adjusting to as we embrace being in the Champions League. I’m not complaining; we must rise to the occasion.”
