Bosnich, similar to Overy, received his first call-up before he had made any senior appearances.
In 1990, he made his debut for the Socceroos as a substitute in a friendly match against the Russian club Torpedo Moscow.
He made his Reds debut a few months later, achieving a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Wimbledon at Old Trafford.
After playing three games during his initial spell as a young player, he returned to the club in 1999 to take over from Peter Schmeichel, signing on a free transfer from Aston Villa.
Overy will be looking to emulate Bosnich by earning some playing time and pushing to secure a spot in next year’s World Cup squad.
