Victor Osimhen has rapidly gained hero status among Galatasaray fans, especially after achieving his first Champions League hat-trick for the club. The 26-year-old forward scored all three goals in Gala's impressive 3-0 victory over Ajax in Amsterdam, making him the top scorer in the competition with six goals—one ahead of Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappé.

Osimhen opened the scoring in the 59th minute with a header from Leroy Sane’s cross, followed by two successful penalties. His performance has helped propel the Süper Lig giants to ninth place in the standings. Osimhen made a permanent move to Galatasaray this summer for €75 million after a productive loan from Napoli, totaling 46 goals in 52 appearances for the Istanbul club. Notably, he has scored in eight consecutive European matches for Galatasaray, setting a new club record.

Osimhen has found the net in all three of Gala's Champions League wins this season, having missed the opening matchday loss to Frankfurt. Each of his goals has been pivotal: he scored the only goal in the 1-0 victory over Liverpool, netted twice in the 3-1 win against Bodo/Glimt, and completed his hat-trick against Ajax. His scoring streak in Europe began with a brace during a 3-2 win over Tottenham in last November's Europa League, and he has reached a total of 12 goals during this run.

As shown in the graphic above, Burak Yılmaz previously held the record for six consecutive games in the 2012/13 season, scoring eight goals during that streak. Milan Baros and Ümit Karan managed to score in five straight matches, while five players, including the legendary Hakan Sukur, scored in four consecutive games. Interestingly, Osimhen surpassed Obafemi Martins' previous mark of 23 goals to become the top Nigerian goalscorer in Europe, reaching 25 goals with his hat-trick against Ajax.
