After being compelled to end his playing career sooner than anticipated, Jones turned to coaching as his next pursuit.
He has already earned his UEFA A Licence coaching badge and is in the process of completing his UEFA Pro Licence, the highest coaching qualification available. As part of this journey, the former defender spent time with the Academy, assisting with the Under-18s last season.
When asked about his experience, Jones responded, “It was brilliant. I worked closely with Adam Lawrence, the [then] manager, who was fantastic, and Colin Little, who is still part of the team.”
He added, “I was able to learn from Adam and Col about how they structure sessions, their goals for those sessions, and the development program designed to help these young players transition from the Academy to the first team, as well as what that process looks like and the importance of having a succession plan in place.”
