Biggest Winners: Rapid Vienna

In the latest market value update for the Austrian Bundesliga, record champions Rapid Vienna emerged as the biggest winners. Their squad value rose from €44.9 million to €51.2 million, with the most significant increase attributed to Petter Nosa Dahl. The Norwegian newcomer impressed in his initial appearances, boosting his value from €600,000 to €2.5 million. Winger Nikolaus Wurmbrand also saw a notable increase, with his market value rising by €1.5 million to €3.5 million.
Alongside Dahl and Wurmbrand, players such as Nenad Cvetkovic, Jannes Horn, Romeo Amane, Martin Ndzie, and Claudy Mbuyi also earned upgrades. Conversely, Lukas Grgic and Austrian international Jonas Auer experienced a decrease in value, as both defenders have seen limited playing time under coach Peter Stöger, now valued at €1 million each.
Austrian Market Value Update: Shifts at Salzburg
Red Bull Salzburg also experienced some changes, with captain Mads Bidstrup’s market value increasing to €15 million. Petar Ratkov also received an upgrade, rising to €5 million. On the other hand, Jacob Rasmussen’s value dropped to €3 million due to a disappointing season, while Lucas Gourna-Douath and Moussa Yeo saw their valuations decrease from €8 million to €6 million.
Sturm Graz had minimal changes, with Dimitri Lavalée’s value falling to €4 million, while Jacob Peter Hödl increased to €1.5 million. In a notable move away from the top clubs, Modou Kéba Cissé of LASK received a significant upgrade; his market value increased fivefold to €5 million due to a planned transfer to Aston Villa in the summer of 2026. Meanwhile, Austria Vienna’s Johannes Eggestein faced a major devaluation, dropping from €2.5 million to €1.8 million after only scoring twice in seven matches since arriving from FC St. Pauli.
Understanding Transfermarkt Market Values
Transfermarkt calculates market values using various pricing models, heavily influenced by the Transfermarkt community, which actively discusses and evaluates player valuations. These market values are not directly equated to transfer fees. Instead, they aim to represent an expected market value for players in a free market. Factors such as individual transfer terms and situational contexts significantly affect market values. Transfermarkt does not follow an algorithm in this assessment.
