United Women Set New Attendance Milestone in Leigh

This marks the fourth campaign in which the team’s attendance at Leigh Sports Village has reached new heights. In recent seasons, we’ve consistently seen record-breaking turnouts for our Women’s Super League matches against the north London side.

In the 2023/24 season’s opening home game, the previous record of 8,312—set during a 2-2 draw with Arsenal—was surpassed when 8,348 fans attended in 2024/25, resulting in another thrilling match that ended in a draw.

While the overall attendance record for United Women’s matches remains 43,615, achieved during the derby against Manchester City at Old Trafford in November 2023, the significance of having over 8,000 supporters at Leigh on Sunday should not be overlooked.

Head coach Marc Skinner expressed his gratitude to the fans, emphasizing how their unwavering support helped motivate the team just three days after a momentous and exhausting UEFA Champions League victory over Brann on the same pitch.
