At times, United displayed a fluid rhythm in their play. James Scanlon skillfully controlled a cross from Kamason with his chest before shooting wide, following an impressive play that originated deep in defense. Obi then applied pressure to win the ball back high up the pitch and found the net, only for the referee to call back the goal for a foul on Brackley’s center-back.
Bailey Hobson’s shot sailed over Murdock’s crossbar after he intercepted a pass from the United goalkeeper, serving as a reminder of how Brackley had taken the lead. Nevertheless, United quickly responded with another promising attack. Dan Armer surged out of defense and played a clever pass to Obi, who then laid it off to Biancheri. Biancheri’s pull-back for Tyler Fletcher resulted in a first-time shot that was well parried away.
Thwaites then delivered a precise cross to Biancheri, but his header went straight into the chest of the towering Maxted, who made another crucial save for Brackley.
United substitute Samuel Lusale injected fresh energy into the game, and his dazzling run during injury time won a late corner for the Reds. From this corner, Devaney headed in a goal. With only seconds left on the clock, Binnion’s young squad pressed on in search of an equalizer, winning another corner that saw goalkeeper Murdock charge forward. However, Brackley managed to clear the danger and secured the victory.
