Recent reports and articles have highlighted your team’s performance, suggesting that the underlying statistics indicate they’ve performed slightly better than the results may show. Does that give you encouragement moving forward? Does it suggest that we’re heading in the right direction?

“It’s crucial to convey this to the players. We connect these statistics to our overall image, and I believe we could have performed better against Fulham. We should still be in the [Carabao] Cup, and we demonstrated that to the players today, reminding them that we have much work ahead. We understand the significance of this match for our fans. So yes, we use this data to reinforce to the players that we’re making progress, but we also need to convert our chances into goals, which has been an issue in these early games.”

As a fan, the anticipation for our matches against City, both home and away, is immense. It’s unusual to see us above them in the table recently. What do you think of their current form, and what challenges do they present to your team this weekend?

“Our primary objective is to approach each game, including the one against City, with the same mindset we have for matches against teams like Grimsby. We want to treat it as just another important game; ideally, we should approach every match against City with that level of focus. City tends to dominate possession and often changes their build-up play, which can make pressing them challenging. However, we concentrate on our own game. We have a defensive system that can adapt to various tactics. It’s also crucial for us to maintain possession because we have shown in recent matches that we can control the ball. We won’t just focus on transitions or attempts to regain possession—we aim to have the ball and make the most of it.”
