Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi has officially joined Caykur Rizespor on loan. The 22-year-old has successfully completed a medical and signed a temporary contract that will see him with the Süper Lig club until the end of the 2025/26 season. Currently, there is no option for Rizespor to purchase him permanently, as Palace is only considering a straight loan for the promising forward. Despite receiving several offers from Championship clubs during the summer transfer window, none were realized. However, with the Turkish transfer deadline extending until midnight on September 12, Rak-Sakyi opted for a move abroad and is set to join his new teammates.

By moving to Türkiye, Rak-Sakyi follows in the footsteps of former Palace player Yannick Bolasie and ex-Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, both of whom had stints with the Turkish side. This transfer represents a significant signing for Rizespor, as they successfully integrated a highly sought-after player into their squad. Palace previously rejected a transfer bid from Leeds United last summer, demonstrating their belief that Rak-Sakyi has a vital role in their future under head coach Oliver Glasner. His contract with Palace runs until June 2027, providing the club ample time to reassess their options next summer. However, with the €30 million acquisition of Yeremy Pino from Villarreal, it became evident that a loan was in the best interest of all parties involved.

With a market value of €6 million, Rak-Sakyi embarks on his third loan since graduating from Palace's academy, having made his debut in August 2021 against Chelsea. After impressing as a teenager, he spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Charlton Athletic, where he scored 15 goals and provided eight assists, earning the title of Player of the Year from the fans. He returned to Palace for the 2023-24 season but had limited first-team opportunities, making only eight appearances. Subsequently, he was loaned to Sheffield United in the Championship, where he scored seven goals in 35 matches before returning to Palace and now faces this new challenge in Türkiye.
