Rick McGagh, the director of fan engagement, stated:
“We believe that fans should have the freedom to choose how they watch and enjoy our games whenever possible. We have advocated for the reintroduction of safe standing and take great pride in our efforts in that regard. Additionally, we support this trial that will allow fans attending Manchester United Women’s team matches to consume alcohol while watching the game, if they wish to do so.
“The safety of our supporters is always our top priority, and we will collaborate with relevant regulatory and fan organizations to assess and monitor this trial as it progresses. We know that similar arrangements have been successful in various sports and at events at Old Trafford, like Soccer Aid. We hope this added option enhances the matchday experience for fans at both Leigh Sports Village and Old Trafford.”
