Despite the recent setbacks, Fernandes is determined to focus on growth and achieving victories—an opportunity that United will have twice in the upcoming week.
First, the Reds will face League Two side Grimsby Town in their League Cup opener on Wednesday evening, followed by a return to Premier League play at home against Burnley next Saturday.
“It’s normal to hear the outside chatter about not winning the first two matches of the season. When you play for Man United, you’re aware of the scrutiny that comes with it, regardless of the situation,” he said.
“You simply have to become accustomed to it, recognize what steps you need to take to better yourself and the team, and contribute to securing victories.”
