All users can access this tool to easily search for the teams from the games they’ve attended and add those matches to their personal database. Whether you’ve watched an unforgettable match at San Siro, cheered at Old Trafford, or experienced the thrill of an El Clásico or an Old Firm derby, you can log all your unique football experiences here on Transfermarkt. You can even record any professional match, from watching Red Star Belgrade in Serbia to enjoying a third-division game while on holiday in Spain.
How Does Transfermarkt’s Groundhopping Tool Work?
To get started, all you need is to register as a Transfermarkt user if you don’t already have an account. Simply click on your user icon in the top right corner of the Transfermarkt website, then under ‘My Profile’, select ‘Groundhopping tool’. This will bring you to the page where the fun begins. You’ll see a map and, on the right, all your personalized stats. Just scroll down and click on ‘Add Match’. You can then search for the two teams you saw play, and a list of all their games will appear, just like in the example of Barcelona vs. Real Madrid below.
Find the specific game you attended and click the stadium icon beside the fixture to add it to your database. The icon will change from blue to green. As you add more games, your personalized statistics will be unveiled. You’ll see which players you’ve watched the most, the highest scorers during your attended matches, and the most valuable players you’ve seen. You’ll also have access to records of every manager in the games you’ve attended, along with various stats—like the number of red cards you’ve witnessed and the total players you’ve seen live (as illustrated in the screenshot below).
