TEAM NEWS

United has faced a few injury issues throughout the summer, but there’s been some encouraging news recently.

Both Andre Onana and Lisandro Martinez have been seen making strides towards regaining their fitness at our newly upgraded Carrington training facility. Onana has expressed optimism about being fit to start against Arsenal, although it appears the opener may come too soon for Martinez.

Joshua Zirkzee and Noussair Mazraoui were absent from the American leg of the 2025 Tour, presented by Snapdragon, as well as the friendly against Fiorentina at M16. Updates regarding their conditions, along with any other team news, are expected to be shared by Amorim during his pre-match press conference on Friday.

The manager may also confirm whether new signing Benjamin Sesko will be part of the squad.

The visitors are beginning the season with a relatively good health status. Gabriel Jesus is the most notable absence, still recovering from a knee injury sustained during our match at the Emirates Stadium in the FA Cup back in January.

Leandro Trossard is the only other concern, having recently suffered a minor groin strain during the Gunners’ pre-season clash with Tottenham Hotspur. However, Mikel Arteta is hopeful that Trossard will be available for selection by Sunday.
