Ruben addressed comments made by Bruno Fernandes, who scored the opening goal from the penalty spot. The captain suggested that the squad could benefit from additional recruitment and acknowledged the need for the players to demonstrate on the pitch that their sacrifices for the club are justified through their performances.
“Absolutely, any team can always enhance itself with new players,” the head coach responded. “However, we have the talent within our current roster to foster competition. As a team, we need to focus on improvement. I believe our players hold great potential. I’m genuinely pleased with the squad we have.”
“I appreciate that the players share this mindset. It indicates their awareness of our circumstances, and that’s encouraging. We will travel, take a day off, and then return to Carrington to work, knowing that at this club, there are always significant ups and downs.”
