Cunha joined United from Wolverhampton Wanderers last month, following an impressive performance last season where he recorded 21 goal contributions in league play. His success can be attributed to his direct and aggressive playing style, complete with a myriad of skills and a lethal accuracy in front of goal.
“We observed his capabilities last season in a different setup,” Amorim told MUTV. “So we anticipate the same level of performance.”
He displayed moments of brilliance in his recent match in Sweden, skillfully maneuvering past defenders, drawing fouls, and generally causing problems for the opposition, ultimately earning him the fans’ vote for Man of the Match. However, having just joined the team a few weeks ago, he is still in the process of building rapport with his new teammates, a fact that Amorim noted.
“Clearly, the connection between him and Bruno is not fully developed yet,” the head coach remarked. “But it’s going to be a strong partnership, especially with players like Kobbie Mainoo or Mason Mount joining the attack. We need to enhance our quality in the final third.”
