Young striker Obi completed his transfer from Arsenal’s Academy in November, quickly making a name for himself at the youth level. His impressive performances earned him a chance to debut with the senior team in an away match against Tottenham Hotspur last February.
The 17-year-old netted his first senior goals during a 3-1 post-season friendly victory over Hong Kong, China, and had a strong showing for Denmark’s Under-20s at the Maurice Revello Tournament over the summer, which delayed his return to Carrington until Thursday.
Having previously worn the number 56, he will now take on the number 32 for the upcoming season, kicking off with a friendly match against Leeds United on Saturday, July 19, in Stockholm.
