He received his new jersey following a group training session at Carrington on Tuesday.
The Brazilian beamed with pride as he acknowledged the great players who have worn the shirt before him, mentioning several of United’s most legendary forwards from recent history.
“It’s truly incredible. It’s something you always dream about,” he shared with us.
“There are so many players who have worn this shirt, it’s easy for me to list them.”
“When I think of this number, Wayne Rooney instantly comes to mind. He was a player I grew up watching, and I’ve seen countless matches featuring him.”
