Starting this season, the Joe Thompson Award will be given annually to a player or staff member from our Academy’s Under-18s or Under-21s teams.
This award is meant for individuals who embody the values of a Manchester United representative, much like Joe Thompson did, showcasing traits such as resilience, honesty, integrity, humility, innovation, and an unwavering work ethic, all while emphasizing community involvement.
The award will serve as a lasting homage to Joe, whose inspiring story of courage, determination, and positivity resonated with fans across the globe.
We will announce the inaugural recipient of the Joe Thompson Award next week.
