Celtic has consistently showcased their ability to balance the profitable sales of key players while maintaining a dominant presence in the Scottish Premiership. The Parkhead club has won nine out of the last ten league titles, an impressive achievement bolstered by their ability to generate over €254 million from player transfers during this period. This figure may soon increase even further.

Recent reports indicate that the Scottish giants are poised to sell one of their standout players for a substantial amount. After being linked with a move to Bundesliga club RB Leipzig, it appears that Celtic winger Nicolas Kühn is heading to Serie A side Como. According to Fabrizio Romano, the newly promoted team has secured Kühn’s signature for a fee around €19 million. Since joining Celtic from Rapid Vienna last January for only €3.5 million, Kühn has made a significant impact in Scotland.

Last season, Kühn proved his worth by contributing to both goals and assists, recording 21 goals and 15 assists across all competitions. This impressive tally translates to nearly one goal contribution per 90 minutes, including standout performances in the Champions League, notably his scoring and assisting against Bayern Munich in the knockout stage. His market value has surged from €1.5 million at the time of his move to Glasgow, now reaching an impressive €12 million, which may increase further if he secures a high-profile transfer this summer.

Celtic top 10 biggest sales

According to various reports from Scotland, Celtic was aiming for a minimum fee of £15 million (€17.5 million) for the winger if they opted to sell him this summer, and they have successfully negotiated a deal with Como that exceeds that expectation. Should the transfer go through for €19 million, Kühn will secure a position among the top five highest sales in Celtic’s history. Recent transfers, such as Matt O’Riley’s €29.5 million move to Brighton and Jota’s €29.1 million transfer to Al-Ittihad, illustrate the club’s ability to demand significant fees for their top players, and a €19 million deal for Kühn would reflect this trend.
